The bottling plant is functional and a business plan is currently being prepared to secure the required woking capital for the bottling plant. 5. Green Adventures Ltd., Newforest, St. Elizabeth. Production of escallion to increase supply to market. 1,200,000.00 570,000.00 The project continues to perform exceptionally well, supplying in excess of 40,000 lbs of escallion per month. The farmers group is in the process of establishing their own post harvest trimming facility to improve the quality of the product delivered to the market. 7 55
6. Newport Mills Ltd., Bodles, St. Catherine. Develop Core Breeding Unit for Pigs. This will supply improved genetic stock to pig farmers. 53,000,000.00 14,000,000.00

The Project has started supplying semen to pig farmers. Improved pigs are available from the facility.

The project has continued to meet the target and has been positively affecting the industry.

8. MM&M Hatcheries and Farms Ltd., Shrewsbury, Portland. Establishment of contract farmer system as well as Exoprt Facility for Ornamental Fish (Koi). 18,000,000.00 12,800,000.00 New export requirement in the US of Koi, the major output, has hampered the project, there are now discussions with USDA in a bid to meet the new requirements. 10. Southern Fruit and Food Processors Ltd., Bull Savannah, St. Elizabeth. Establishment of contract farmer system to produce carrots and escallion for the manufacturing of carrot puree and crushed escallion. 11,900,000.00 8,400,000.00 The on farm irrigation has been installed and productive plan developed, however the implementation of production is contingent on the commission of deep well to provide irrigation water. 13 70
11. Sealapia Ornamental Production Project, Iterboreale, St. Mary. Establishment of contract farmer system as well as Exoprt Facility for Ornamental Fish. 21,900,000.00 13,800,000.00 The beneficiary has undertaken to construct the facility using his own resources. The ASSP fund will be channeled into other areas for the said project. Improved brood stock fish had been imported for this project and contract signed with satellite farmers to grow ornamental fish for project. 15 100

Establishment of a contract farmer system to produce vegetables for the fresh cut vegetable market. 4,370,000.00 3,480,000.00 Farmers have been producing and supplying vegetables to this fresh cut facility. 16. Hounslow Food Crop Project, Hounslow, St. Elizabeth. Production and Marketing of domestic crops. 11,336,160.00 5,541,120.00 The project has started to achieve its objectives by supplying pumpkin and sweet potatoes to its contracted buyer. Sunderland Crop Production Project, St. James To increase farmers income through the production of crops for specific markets 78,616 53,743 The ASSP has supplied the group with irrigation equipment, Construction of the seedling nursery is 97 % complete, Fabrication of container to house storage and office facilities is 70 % complete. Negotiation with financial institution is underway re the acquisition of funds for working capital and cost share.he main efforts were aimed at attracting private investors to inject capital into the business. 50  
18. Northern Valley Crop production, Braco, Trelawny. To improve quality of produce as well as increase efficiency of production of the farmers 132,305 99,026 Implementation is contingent on the group honoring their cost share obligation. 6  
19. Thetford Small Farmers Cooperative, St. Catherine Poduction and marketing of crops 126,760 96,950 The ASSP has procured and delivered farm equipment including tractor and implements.The group has received financial assistance to help with the construction of the office and packaging facility. In light of this , they had begun procuring material to work on the building. Land preparation operation was undertaken. 15 35
20. Amity Hall Production Project, Amity Hall, St. Catherine Production and Marketing of Crops 519,652 296,750 The ASSP will be providing farm equipment incluing tractor and implements, packaging faciliities as well as an irrigation system. 10 22

Sheep Development Project Importation of purebred ewes to improve local genetic stock in order to mutton for tourism sector. 367,719 287,918 This project is progressing well and has a positive impact on the development of the small ruminant sector.The ASSP will provide breeding stock, shearing equipment for farmers and construction material for the feedlot, truck and personnel for two years. 15 5

23. Ebony Park Crop Production and Marketing Projec, Clarendon. Production and Marketing of Crops 411,363 298,943 Processing Plant is under construction. This project is being implimented on the lands in the custody of the Ministry of Agriculture and lands in Ebony Park. the land clearing exercise and installation of irrigation system are far advanced. Projects have secured markets for the produce to to be cultivated production schedules are to be developed and implemented in short order. 35
