Plans are now in place so as to facilitate the continuance of the work done by ASSP over the past years. In a bid to continue the growth and competitiveness of the agricultural sector, and the sustainability of productive projects funded by the ASSP, the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands with the assistance of the ASSP has established an Investment Center and The Agri- Stakeholders Association.
The Ministry Of Agriculture and Lands Investment Center (MoALIC)
MoALIC specific objective is to offer inexpensive handholding services geared at assisting micro, small, and medium sized agro-based enterprise to document their "winning business idea" into bankable business plans/projects. This will allow these investors to attract and /or secure much needed funding.
Functions of MoALIC include:
- Analyze business ideas to say if they have the potential to become bankable projects.
- Conduct financial analysis
- Document business plan/projects on behalf of client for submission to lending institution
- Identify and facilitate access to low cost funding
- Establish and identifying market contracts between investors and marketers.
- Implement, evaluate and monitor the performance of investment projects.
Agri-Stakeholders Association (ASA)
The Agri-Stakeholders Association (ASA) is an association registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies (IPS). ASA is the umbrella organization which is assisted by the ASSP that coordinates the production and marketing activity of Agri- Producers Organizations.
Functions of ASA include:
- To assist in strengthening the organizational structure of members.
- To assist in increasing the competitiveness of members' organizations.
- To assist in organizing members production as to ensure availability of markets.
- To lobby on behalf of members locally and internationally.
